Are you searching for a James Hardie Siding Contractor in Lee’s Summit?

Siding projects are common occurrences for the crew at Smart Exteriors. Whether it’s because of a need for enhanced curb appeal or improved functional performance, there’s no shortage of reasons why we choose to use high-quality products like James Hardie siding. Lee’s Summit, MO homes are subjected to intense weather conditions throughout the year and require high-performance solutions and exceptional products in order to withstand the climate of the area. When installed correctly, James Hardie siding is durable, functional, and ultimately beautiful—and ideal for use in homes throughout Missouri and the rest of the Midwestern USA.

One of our more recent projects was the Clements siding project. The home is located in the Lakewood subdivision of Lee’s Summit and was built back in 1985. The homeowner spent far too much time needing to chase wood rot that would pop up from time to time, and repainting to keep the siding looking fresh. Ultimately, the homeowner called us to come and install new siding that would eliminate the need for constant touch-ups and be protected against rot and other environmental factors exclusive to Lee’s Summit.

The first thing we did was strip the house down by cutting out all existing rotten siding and then replacing it with new OSB sheathing. After the sheathing was installed, we put in brand new James Hardie pre-finished lap siding that was finished in an attractive yet understated Pearl Gray tone—a popular choice for homeowners installing James Hardie Siding. Lee’s Summit contractors from Smart Exteriors then took it a step further by replacing the existing trim with all-new James Hardie pre-finished trim that was also colored in Pearl Gray. During the project, we determined that new soffits and fascia was needed, so we wrapped in matching Pearl Gray aluminum to complete the look. Sometimes, the most attractive look is one uniform color instead of the traditional two colors. Pearl Gray is neutral enough to add a modern look while remaining eye-catching in the light thanks to its ability to reflect light better than other neutral colors.

The homeowner also sought an updated look for the rest of the home’s exterior. To accomplish this, we installed new shutters and Fypon headers above the windows and garage door to add some needed dimension to the home. Ultimately, the finished product was a modern looking home with added dimension due to its siding design. The new exterior color scheme added a depth to the home’s curb appeal that was previously lacking and received a huge boost in aesthetic appeal.

In addition, with all-new James Hardie siding, the homeowner gained a superior functioning exterior that is resistant to inclement weather and other important environmental factors—meaning it’s built to last for decades into the future. As a result, the Clements siding project was a resounding success—and the homeowners were very satisfied with the visual, practical, and functional improvements to their property.
